Background

In 2015, the Department of International Trade Promotion, by Office of Liftstyle Trade Promotion implemented a project to expand a new market channel:Institution to increase export value and focus on the hotel business, residences and restaurants. At present, the tourism and residential services business are continuously growing, especially the target group with high potential and purchasing power in the hotels, residences, and restaurants in the European market. It is seen as a market segment that requires products with customization & craftmanship. It is important that Thai furniture and decorative product entrepreneurs are skillful and being an advantage higher than foreign entrepreneurs who focus on quantitative production only. Therefore, a product development project has been developed to penetrate the hospitality industry in Italy and Europe to enhance Thai products invade into the market by bringing a team of product development operators Italian to give an advice and recommend Thai companies in each company and bring the prototype products from the project participants to exhibit at trade shows in foreign countries such as the furniture fair called.

with these purposes as follows:

1. To develop entrepreneurial potential in production, design and to create added value for the target products to meet the needs of new purchasers in the target market with high potential and purchasing power.

2. To promote the good national image and Thai lifestyle products through the expansion of new marketing channels: Insititution by focusing on creating a positive attitude among the target customers towards Thai lifestyle products as well as enhancing the image of the products to be leading in accordance with international standards.

3. To increase the value of exports of goods and services through new marketing channels including expanding market share for target products in Italian / European markets or other potential markets.

4. To promote Thai lifestyle products to be well-known and popular among new purchasers (Institution), especially for hotels, residences and restaurants, business both domestically and internationally.

Performance of the activities

Nowadays, the performance of the activities under the Entrepreneur Capacity Development Program has been satisfactory both in terms of acceptance from international purchasers attending the fair and purchase orders. The Department of International Trade Promotion has prioritized the importance of further developing the project by developing the potential of new entrepreneurs that are capable of responding to international purchasers.
