06 May FabBRICKS recycles textile waste into ecological and aesthetic bricks
Many of us might think that the oil and plastic industry is the root cause of environmental pollution but our “clothes” that we wear every day is the 2nd main cause of environmental pollution apart from the oil industry which sits at #1.
Clarisse Merlet, founder of FabBRICKS says that these aesthetic bricks are created from old clothes and leftover rags. It has been turned into furniture such as chairs, room decoratives, and even bricks with properties of cotton that is heat-proof and absorbs sounds!
The method is to mix pieces of cloths and a specially developed environmentally friendly glue made into blocks of bricks.
It all started from architectural items, decoratives and developed into furniture that hold’s its very own edgy style while also saving the world from the pollution of fast fashion and rubbish truck loaded with clothes that are difficult to recycle, giving it a new purpose that’s different from fashion.
